Laos Pharmacovigilance Guidelines in English

Pharmacovigilance (PV) or drug safety, as defined by the World Health Organization, is the “science and activities relating to the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse effects or any other drug related problem.” In other words, it focusses on the public health protection with the aim to minimize the risk related to the use of medicines and vaccines.

In Laos, PV guidelines are developed and regulated by the Ministry of Health for the purpose of monitoring drug safety. For pharmaceutical companies, this is an important document that will assist them in the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of their products.

Laos PV guidelines is available for download on the website of the Ministry of Health, and it is currently available only in Lao language.
